SAN DIEGO EXPERIENCE DESIGN (SDXD)

XD, UX, IXD, & USABILITY PROFESSIONALS NETWORK

I joined SDXD in July 2012 when I was in college and trying to make some connections in the design industry, back when it was still known as San Diego Computer-Human Interaction (SandCHI). This group drew in members from both academia and the industry to network, discuss, and listen to talks. It was in this group that I was able to get a foothold in the design community, actively participating in the events and making lasting connections.

I was a member of the the board of SandCHI under President Paul Hong from October of 2014 through December 2016. I helped see it through its revamp as SDXD in winter of 2014-15, helped plan the backlog of monthly. events, and moderated their events calendar. Additionally, I worked with the other board members to come up with SDXD's motto: Education, Inspiration, and Community.

SDXD’s mission is to help connect groups that focus on all facets of design under one umbrella of 'Experience Design' so as to create a more unified community. If you’re interested in joining, check out their MeetUp!
